  2. Garage Flooring - Commercial grade tile?

Can commercial grade vinyl tile squares be good for a garage floor? They're fairly thick and pretty durable, plus they're cheap. I would like to make a nice checkerboard pattern. The garage floor is free of oil stains and is in pretty good shape. After I finish I will be moving a few things out there such as my exercise equipment. I've looked at epoxy flooring and interlocking flooring but it is expensive and IMHO doesn't look very good.

  10. Should I fix the parquet floor or upgrade to Oak strips/Bamboo?

    August 28, 2010, 10:09 am
I had water damage in my Condo (600 square feet) and the insurance is only allotting to pay for $5100 to replace the parquet in one room and patch the floor in the bedroom. The new parquet floors however, are thinner and a little smaller than the existing flooring so a repair would be noticeable. Should I pay the additional money over the claim to change the entire floor to an Oak or a Bamboo floor?
